I think at some point everyone does, even adults.
I wish my kids would just poop in the potty. They seem to enjoy just pooping in their pants all the time.
My son didn’t get the hang of pooping in the toilet until he was almost 5. My daughter who just turned 4, is well on her way to never figuring it out.
My children dance around the house holding their poop in, and then when we force them to go to the bathroom they cry and cry. It hurts them so bad because they wouldn’t just go. These moments are awful.
If you don’t know what I am talking about and you are a parent, you are lucky. We use fiber gummies and those don’t cure the problem. Reward charts don’t work for us either. Bribery fails. Punishment doesn’t matter to them. It seems as though it is a developmental stage issue, and they grow out of it, but it sure is frustrating.
How have you dealt with this issue in your home? What advice can you share on this matter?
