3 Fun Internet Games to Help You Pass the Time

I recently returned on a flight from Raleigh, North Carolina. I had forgotten to download movies to watch on the flight, which is not that abnormal for me. The internet connection on the plane was not strong enough for my phone apps to connect. Most of my games require a consistent internet connection.

So, with the limited available internet I searched the internet for any simple games I could play to pass the time. I enjoy solitaire and I know from experience that you can play solitaire without much of an internet connection. This trip was no different. I discovered a game website that not only had solitaire but also had many other basic games with simple graphics. Solitaire.org kept me sane on the two-hour flight home. The best part of the games was that you could play them with slow internet.

Solitaire.org has a variety of games, from Match 3, to Mahjong, (whatever that is), card games and puzzles, and so much more. I thought I would share my three favorite games with you, in case you ever are stuck in a plane or waiting room without adequate entertainment options on your mobile device–it happens.

  1. Golf Solitaire – I played so many games of golf solitaire–and I still haven’t won one yet. This variation of solitaire is not for the faint of heart. You have to stack the cards back and forth on each other. You can go one number up and one number down until all the cards are gone. If you have never played Golf Solitaire, give it a try.
  2. British Euchre – I loved playing British Euchre. As an American, I didn’t even realize there was a British version. The British version adds Jokers to the game. It was a little difficult at first, but it was a nice curveball over regular Euchre for me. The animation was superfast during the game. I was able to play lots of hands in a very short amount of time.
  3. Princess Hidden Objects – I’m a sucker for games that hide objects in plain sight. I guess I haven’t grown up beyond the old “I Spy” games of my childhood. Even now at 43, I love to look for items hidden in pictures. Solitaire.org has a variety of hidden things games, I tried a few of them. But I was partial to the Princess version. Each picture is a level that you can complete, but be careful… you have to look very close!

I highly recommend these games. I didn’t get to play every game on the website, but I enjoyed every game that I did play. If you are looking for a new place to play some games, or just a way to kill some time, go ahead and bookmark solitaire.org.
