Honorable Mentions:
Ohio Caverns, OH
In my childhood I was mesmerized by the Ohio Caverns. I have fond memories of the times that I visited there.
Garden of the Gods, CO
I didn’t spend much time in the park but it was impressive and unique. Stones defying gravity and the elements.
10. Niagara Falls, NY
Who doesn’t love Niagara Falls? I prefer the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian Side.
9. Everglades National Park, FL
Spent a Christmas day standing knee deep in the Everglades. It was a great day, only to find an alligator resting 100 feet away.
8. Great Smoky Mountains, TN
Majesty and beauty. I could get lost in these green woods enjoying the peacefulness.
7. Canyon De Chelly, AZ
Stark contrast between bright green and sandy brown. Has ancient ruins and beautiful views.
6. Harry Potter Theme Park, FL
The only man-made thing to grace my list. I am not a huge Potter fan but this theme park is that impressive. You feel like you are actually in Hogsmead from sight to sound to touch and smell.
5. Grand Canyon, AZ
God had fun making this one. Big, bold, and beautiful.
4. Sedona, AZ
Everything about this place speaks of beauty. The red cliffs capture your imagination and your heart.
3. Berry Islands, Bahamas
Very hard to get to but always worth the time. My favorite place is Shark Creek. Solitude and pristine untouched sand.
2. Hanauma Bay, HI
Wish I had been in Hawaii longer. The high cliffs surrounding this bay create separation from the busyness of Waikiki. The water is invitingly crystal clear.
1. Lago Atitlan, Guatemala
The one place I loved and always miss. A crystal clear lake in a mountainous valley hemmed by two large volcanoes. Paradise in the mountains.

I am sad to say the only place I can agree with you on is Horse Shoe falls in Canada.–not because the others aren’t absolutely beautiful….just because I sadly have not been to any other place. Jake would be proud …..Harry Potter made your list!! 🙂
The Ohio Caverns is only 3 hours away… You can start there.
